Election Day is more than a date on the calendar—it’s a chance for every one of us to shape the future of Kinston. Our voices, our choices, and our votes matter. But for too many, barriers like transportation, discouragement, or life’s struggles can stand in the way. This year, let’s make a promise: no one in our community will be left behind.
Let’s Eliminate Every Excuse
If you know someone who doesn’t have a car, reach out and offer them a ride. Organize with friends, family, or neighbors to create a carpool. Share your plans on social media, in your church group, or at work. For the next three days, let’s make it impossible for anyone to say, “I couldn’t get to the polls.” If you have extra time, volunteer to drive for those who need help. Every seat in your car could mean another voice heard.
A Community Effort
Voting is not just an individual act—it’s a community responsibility. Check in on your elderly neighbors, single parents, or anyone who might need a hand. Remind them of early voting hours, polling locations, and what they’ll need to bring. Offer to watch someone’s kids while they vote, or simply send a text to encourage them. When we all pitch in, we all win.
A Heartfelt Message to Those in Recovery
To the brave souls in recovery who are choosing hope and change, your courage is a beacon for us all. Walking away from addiction, even for a day, to participate in democracy is a victory worth celebrating. You are not alone, and your vote is powerful. I want you to know that our campaign sees you, values you, and is committed to fighting for more accessible housing and support services. Your journey inspires us to build a Kinston where everyone has a safe place to call home.
Let’s Make History—Together
Imagine the impact if every eligible voter in Kinston showed up. Imagine the message we’d send: that we care, that we’re united, and that we believe in a better tomorrow. Let’s be the community that sets an example for the rest of North Carolina. Let’s be the neighbors who go the extra mile—literally and figuratively—to make sure every voice is heard.
Call to Action
Offer a ride.
Spread the word.
Encourage and support.
Vote, and help others do the same.
This is our moment, Kinston. Let’s rise to the occasion and make sure no one is left behind on Election Day.
