✍️ Petition to Remove Kinston City Manager Rhonda Barwick !!!!!!!

To the Residents of Kinston and Members of City Council:

We, the undersigned, demand the immediate removal of City Manager Rhonda Barwick due to her repeated failure to serve the people of Kinston—especially East Kinston—with transparency, fairness, and accountability.

Despite overseeing a $133 million city budget, Ms. Barwick has:

🚨 Failed the Community in Key Areas:

• 💰 Earned $142,000 annually—204% above the city’s median income—while neglecting basic services

• 🌱 Allowed East Kinston to become overgrown and abandoned, with no infrastructure investment or beautification

• 🏗️ Awarded contracts without transparent bidding, shutting out local businesses and favoring outside firms

• 📉 Misallocated city funds, paying consultants and contractors with little oversight or measurable results

• 🧾 Refused to engage the public, avoiding town halls and community input

• 🛑 Let City Council take the heat, while she controls the budget and dodges accountability

• The immediate termination of Rhonda Barwick as City Manager

• A full independent audit of city spending and contract awards

• A commitment to equitable investment in East Kinston and underserved neighborhoods

• Transparent bidding processes and public oversight of future contracts
