Rain Alert: Event Cancellations and Community Updates for Kinston, NC

Rain is approaching Kinston, NC, and our first priority is the safety of our community. With unpredictable weather patterns becoming more common, it's vital that we stay informed and take necessary precautions. As part of our efforts to ensure safety, we have decided to cancel some upcoming events that are crucial for fostering community spirit. This blog post will provide updates on event cancellations, safety tips, and essential contact information for our community.

Event Cancellations

Unfortunately, due to the impending rain, we have had to cancel "Food Truck Friday" scheduled for this Friday. The food trucks that bring delicious options for the community will have to wait. This decision was made with the well-being of everyone in mind, as we want to minimize risks associated with severe weather conditions.

Alongside this, the "Community Clean-Up" event planned for Saturday is also postponed. We understand how important this event is to our local volunteers. It not only helps clean our neighborhoods but also fosters camaraderie among residents. We will announce new dates for these events once it is deemed safe to resume activities.

Safety First: Follow Local Weather Updates

As we await the storm's arrival, it's essential to stay informed. Follow local weather updates from reliable sources such as the National Weather Service (NWS) and local news stations. Weather-related information will help you understand the severity of the storm and whether you need to take additional precautions.

Make sure you keep your emergency kit ready and packed with essentials like bottled water, non-perishable food, medications, and necessary documents. Battery-powered radios can also be beneficial for staying connected with updates if the power is out.
